"Monte-doom-a"

Films: The Haunted Sea (1997)

Alias: Andy Delgado

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Out at sea, without a captain nor a map. But hey, there's lots of treasure to go around. Oh, just make sure that treasure isn't, you know, cursed in some way. Nothing good ever happens if so.

History: From the temple of Montezuma is a sacred idol said to carry a terrible curse. The crew of the S.S. Hades didn't get the memo, and all perished. A nearby ship has taken notice of the adrift place, and soon, one of the crew comes into contact with the idol. It corrupts him, and almost instantly turns him into a reptilian monster bent on killing everyone.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: The only surviving member of the crew manages to escape the ship and the monster just as the place blows up thanks to her. The previous cursed one dies, but now she seems to be possessed as well...

Powers/Abilities: Has an extremely strong and long tongue, and can carry the curse on to anyone who comes into contact with it.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5- Despite an interesting design, this beast suffers for a number of reasons. It mainly owes to how wobbly and unconvincing the suit can be, and how half-hearted the roaring is. Still, that curse is rather easy to spread, so look forward to turning into a cobra-raptor.

Trivia: -This was the last of many films released in the "Roger Corman Presents" series, which included "The Wasp Woman" from this decade and "Death Game".

-Montezuma II was one of the most recognized Aztec emperors. This was because of how during his reign, the Aztec empire was at its largest. But at the same time, he is famous for how much of a weak-willed miscreant he was, as he widened the gap between commoners and nobles, as well as constantly demanding tribute and sacrifices.

Let me guess. It still belongs in a museum?

"Erm...wrong hallway?"
The sands of time cannot contain it...
